Weight control of cars with essential goods suspended until May 25

Rostransnadzor extended the suspension of weight control of vehicles transporting essential goods until May 25, the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation said in a statement.

"Rostransnadzor extended until May 25 the suspension of weight control on the total weight and axle loads in relation to freight vehicles transporting food and non-food essential goods - food, children's goods, medicines," the ministry said.

Initially, the measure was introduced from March 21 to April 25 to support road carriers as part of a government plan to ensure sustainable economic development in the context of the coronavirus pandemic.

At the same time, the ministry clarified that we are talking about the transportation of essential goods in trailers, platform-type semi-trailers with tented tops, in motor vans, refrigerated and isothermal-type semi-trailers, as well as light-duty vehicles.
