China flooded the ports of the Far East with goods

In the Far East, the problems with accepting container ships are increasing: they cannot unload for several weeks, the terminals cannot cope with cargo handling, Kommersant writes.

Imports through the ports of the Far East grew by 38% in eight months.

The reason for the unprecedented popularity of the Far Eastern ports was both an unprecedented rise in prices for sea transportation through the Suez Canal, and problems at border crossings with China.

Now transportation through Vladivostok and Nakhodka and further along the Transsib is 30-40% cheaper than the southern sea route to Europe via Suez.

It is reported that dispatch by rail from the ports is carried out today in accordance with the loading standards, there is no large deficit of platforms.

But the congestion of trains upon arrival in Moscow is already being observed, and, perhaps, there will be restrictions on this side too in the near future, which will directly affect the ports of Vladivostok and Nakhodka.

According to market participants, this situation will continue in the coming year.
